Leonardo Gambini was born in the green hills of the Marche region in Italy, but, already at an early age, he decided he needed to move to Rome and Milan to pursue painting. He finally settled in Milan where he earned a double degree in painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
Since the age of 10, the artist has been immersing himself in the world of street art and spray paints, but only recently has he completed reinvented his style of painting in favour of a new vision which can be related to the "post graffiti" movement. In his artistic research, Gambini approaches color as a tool to transmit a vibrant energy to the viewer.
The "Street" series is a project that was born in 2017. The artist explains:
“In the "Street" project I want to give shape to recognizable graphics. The forms I create are not born by chance but the union of structures that come to form a single and indestructible body. This idea is realized on all kinds of surfaces from “classic" walls to canvas. The inspiration for the project stems from my travels, during which I like to observe how art is interpreted in various cultures - this research I use to recreate my own personal interpretation.”
