The work of Argentinian painter Marco Ortolan oscillates between hyperrealism and impressionism, while displaying a clear link to the artistic heritage of the Italian Renaissance. Composition and light play a defining role in his pieces, which always start out as color drawings, before he translates the figures into broad yet precise brushstrokes to give shape to the final refined artwork.

Our role as an artist is to awaken the spirit and sensitivity of the viewer as art is linked to the spirit.
